  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

3. Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Todmorden Health Centre is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

  • where it fails the success criteria
  • planned dates for when issues will be fixed

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

> Heading tag found with no content. Text that is not intended as a heading should not be marked up with heading tags.

> Anchor element found with a valid href attribute, but no link content has been supplied.

> Ensure the functionality provided by mousing over this element is available through the keyboard; for instance, using the focus event.

> Ensure the functionality provided by an event handler for this element is available through the keyboard

> If this element contains a navigation section, it is recommended that it be marked up as a list.

> The heading structure is not logically nested. This h2 element appears to be the primary document heading, so should be an h1 element.

> Heading markup should be used if this content is intended as a heading.

> Ensure the functionality provided by mousing out of this element is available through the keyboard; for instance, using the blur event.

Content that’s not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

PDFs and other documents

Some of our PDFs and Word documents are essential to providing our services. For example, we have PDFs with information on how users can access our services, and forms published as Word documents. By the end of March 2021 we plan to either fix these or replace them with accessible HTML pages.

The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.

Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.

Live video

We do not plan to add captions to live video streams because live video is exempt from meeting the accessibility regulations.

4. What we’re doing to improve accessibility

Accessibility issues will be reviewed and resolved over the next 6 months.

Testing will be carried out a regular interval to ensue ongoing compliance.

5. Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 9th April 2021.

This website was last tested on 17th February 2021. The test was carried out by iatro partners ltd.

Interpreting Service

We are able to offer an interpreting service if required.  Should this be a service that you require please can you let the receptionist know when you book your appointment and then the necessary arrangements can be made.
