Electronic Prescription Service
We offer the Electronic Prescription Service, which allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy to get your medicines or appliances from. Your GP then sends your prescription electronically to the place you nominated, this means: When you order a prescription online, you can have your prescription sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. This is called a nomination. Once you nominate a pharmacy: you will no longer need to collect paper prescriptions from your GP surgery, your nominated pharmacy will receive your prescriptions until you change or remove your nomination. You can nominate a high street pharmacy by speaking to Reception, using the NHS App or logging on to SystmOnline.
A high street pharmacy is where you collect your medicines in person. They may also deliver to your home. Online-only pharmacies send your medicines in the post. To nominate an online-only pharmacy, you must register with the pharmacy through their website or contact them. It’s not possible to nominate an online-only pharmacy in your NHS App.
Medication Review
Medication Use Review Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see or speak to a pharmacist once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Disposing of old medicines
If your medicine is out of date, unwanted, or some of it is left over after you have stopped taking it, do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet. Instead, take it to your pharmacy to be disposed of safely.
